“Domestic violence in Asian immigrant communities is a persistent problem, studies show, and research suggests it looms especially large for Korean immigrant women.”

KFAM recently held our first Domestic Violence Training Retreat for Faith leaders in the Korean Churches. Our domestic violence retreat was about interacting, communicating and sharing with each other what we have experienced and learned. So that we can help prevent and educate our community about domestic violence awareness.

As you approach the Holiday Seasons, what’s on your checklist of things to do?

In 2016, KFAM is launching a new Workforce Development Program! This program will offer job training, financial seminars and support for our Korean immigrant domestic violence survivors to secure high quality jobs and financially take care of their families and themselves.

Our funding shortfall is $15,000. Please make a donation below to help us launch our program!

We could not continue to serve all the clients we do without the generous support of donors like you.  Thank you again for helping us improve the lives of Korean Americans in Los Angeles.

Asian Foster Family Initiative (AFFI) Launch

Being placed in non-ethnic specific foster families that lack knowledge about the children’s language, food or culture can compound the existing anxiety, confusion and trauma.

In response, KFAM started the Korean Foster Family Initiative (KFFI) campaign to bring awareness of this deficit and ultimately recruit Korean families to become licensed foster care providers through Los Angeles County DCFS (Department of Children and Family Services).

With the success of KFFI, KFAM with the Asian Pacific Family Center has started the Asian American Foster Family Initiative (AFFI) to serve the foster children in our diverse Asian Communities in the LA and greater LA area!
