KFAM은 한인 이민 가정폭력 피해자를 위해 문화적 이해를 바탕으로 한 전문 심리 상담 및 중재 역할과 지역사회교육 및 아웃리치를 시행하면서 한인가정에서 일어나는 가정폭력의 악순환을 끊고자 일하고 있습니다.
특별히 가정폭력 피해 여성 및 아동을 위해 한인가정상담소에서는 여러 후원자들의 지원과 성원으로
“벤자민홍 여성아동센터”를 개관하여 안전 시설 및 주중 저녁시간에도 가능한 서비스를 확대하였습니다.

폭력 피해자/트라우마 서비스
KFAM 상담가들은 가정폭력의 피해자들, 성폭력 및 아동학대를 겪은 아동을 위한 전문 심리 상담치료를 위해 훈련되어 있습니다.
위기 상황의 대처에서부터 트라우마 상담에 이르기까지 피해자들이 회복의 과정을 거쳐 폭력으로부터의 삶을 재건하는 길을 돕습니다.
위기중재, 사례관리, 트라우마 관련 전문 심리 상담, 피해자 보호 및 주거, 법률, 사회 지원 서비스 연결을 도와드립니다.

Who is a Resource (Foster) Parent?A Resource (Foster) Parent is someone who provides a temporary safe, stable, and loving home for a child or children. You will help them reunite with their birth parents or family member when the family problems have been resolved. Being a foster parent is a major responsibility. KFAM provides personal training, support, financial and medical assistance to foster parents.

Am I Eligible to Become a Resource (Foster) Parent?Flexibility, a sense of humor, willingness to grow and learn, and a commitment to provide a safe, stable, nurturing, and loving home for a child. You may be single, married, divorced, or living with a partner. You may live in an apartment or house, as long as you have enough room for the child. No minimum income is required, but you must be able to support yourself. For working parents, appropriate childcare arrangements need to be made. You may be of any race, ethnicity, culture religion, sexual orientation, or gender identity.

What Resources Are Available?Personal Support Your social worker will prepare, train, and support you through the foster preparation process. You will also be connected with community resources that you might need. If you choose to adopt a child, post-adoptive services are available to all adoptive families. Financial/Medical Support You will receive medical and dental coverage for your child, as well as monthly financial support until the child is 18. Also, if a child has mental health and/or medical needs, increased foster and adoption assistance payments are available.

What is the Application Process?There is no fee to become a Resource Parent (Foster and/or Adoptive Parent). With a completed application, it takes about 3-6 months to go through the process; but remember everyone’s situation is different and therefore timeframes will vary. Once you are approved, the type of child who you want to parent will affect how quickly a child can be placed with you. 가정폭력 피해 라이프 비욘드
가정폭력 피해 라이프비욘드는 한인가정 폭력 피해자들을 위한 서포트 그룹 입니다.
가정폭력 프로그램 담당자/임상 심리상담가들이 진행하는 대그룹은 피해 여성들이 고립되지 않고 다른 참석자들과 함께 안전한 환경에서 필요한 정신적인 지지와 회복을 위한 도움을 드리고자 하는 모입니다.
가정폭력에서 생존한 여성 및 현재 가정폭력으로 고통받고 있는 두 그룹의 여성을 모두 포함하는 모임이며, 이후의 삶에 있어서 필요한 격려와 건강한 삶을 위한 길을 함께 모색해 가는 시간이 될 것입니다.

KFAM의 감독 방문 프로그램은 법정 명령으로 만나지 못하는 가정의 부모와 자녀들이 안전하고 문화적인 거부감 없이 만나실 수 있는 장소를 제공하고 있습니다.
LA 인근 지역의 유일한 한국어 감독 방문 서비스를 제공하는 단체로서, 전문적인 훈련을 거친 이중언어의 모니터 요원이 KFAM에서 안전한 환경 가운데 감독 방문을 가질 수 있도록 도와드립니다.

가해자 중재 프로그램
KFAM은 LA 카운티의 보호감찰국(Los Angeles County Probation Department)에서 유일하게 인정한 한국어 상담 서비스 제공 기관입니다.
저희 상담소에서는 한국어로 가정폭력 가해자들이 의무적으로 받아야 하는 법정 명령의 52주간의 가해자 교육 프로그램을 받으실 수 있습니다.
가정폭력 가해자 교육 프로그램을 통해 가해자들은 자신들의 분노와 감정을 건설적으로 조절하는 방법 및 갈등 조절을 배우는 것과 동시에 같은 문제를 가진 이 프로그램의 다른 참석자들과의 협력을 통해 스스로와 안전에 관한 인식을 성숙시킬 수 있습니다.
